Why does the checkout only allow Local Pickup?

Due to the way most commerce sites are configured (this site as well), they can only give options for shipping either by size or weight, with antiques, especially furniture and clocks, you cannot be generic with shipping costs; example and Oak mantel clock is a lot lighter than the same size marble mantle clock - we can arrange shipping for most items, just contact us and we can then give you the right price for your item.

Shipping of furniture and large clocks?

We use a dedicated antiques courier for shipping to mainland UK (not Highlands and Islands), they provide a ‘blanket’ service, where your item is wrapped in shipping blankets to avoid damage during transport. If you prefer to use your own courier, we are happy to accommodate.
