Dyson Edwardian Ting Tang Mantel Clock
Dyson Edwardian Ting Tang Mantel Clock
Here we have a lovely example of a Dyson Mantel clock with a Junghans Ting Tang movement. Circa 1905
If you do not know what a Ting Tang movement is, it is a movement that strikes the quarter hour via a two tone pair of gongs, making the bim bam sound. It strike the quarter past once, the half past twice and the quarter to 3 times. It then strikes the hour number via only one gong, making it easy to know the time just by listening to the type of strike.
The clock has been fully serviced, including a full strip down of the movement, all parts cleaned and oiled as necessary plus any wear resolved. The movement has been tested and is ready for another 10 years of service. The case has been cleaned, the lacquer revived and has had a coat of wax. The brass dial bezel has been polished and lacquered.
The clock comes with a white enamel dial, that is in very good condition, the Dyson mark and “Clock Maker to the King”.
