Jahresuhrenfabrik 1908 400 day anniversary clock
Jahresuhrenfabrik 1908 400 day anniversary clock
Jahresuhrenfabrik was founded by August Schatz in the mid-1850s in the Black Forest region of Triburg, Germany. It was registered in 1881 as Schatz & Wintermantel, and was re-structured in 1884 as Jahresuhrenfabrik A.G. It was registered again in1897 as Jahresuhrenfabrik GmbH, and finally in 1923 as Jahresuhrenfabrik August Schatz & Sohne.
This 400 day clock is dated around 1908, due to the backplate dimensions and the rare disk style pendulum.
The clock has been fully restored, including a replacement barrel and 1st wheel arbour, plus a new suspension spring assembly has been manufactured. The movement has been dismantled, inspected, cleaned and oiled, the case has also been dismantled, polished and given a coat of lacquer.
The glass dome may be original, although we cannot guarantee that, it certainly has the cut and ground base, commensurate with the age of the clock.
Please note due to the delicate nature of the suspension springs on this type of clock, we accept no responsibility for damage to this item and will charge for a repair if it is damaged.
