Ships clock by William Bates of Chatham
Ships clock by William Bates of Chatham
A lovely condition, mid century ships clock, sold by William Bates of Chatham.
Circa 1950
Brass case with painted dial. There is some chipping to the inside of the glass but this does not deter from the beautiful look of the clock.
The original movement was beyond economic repair, therefore has been replaced with a radio controlled quartz movement. The movement picks up a signal from Germany so that the clock always shows the right time and will automatically self adjust for daylight saving. The movement takes a standard AA battery, which will last at least a year, and can be replaced by unscrewing the dial to get to the movement behind.
A beautifully well built clock with low maintenance (no winding up every week), which will look lovely on any wall.
Overall diameter 23cm
Depth 9cm
