Victorian large repeating carriage clock
Victorian large repeating carriage clock
Large Victorian brass repeating carriage clock now available.
This is a lovely carriage clock, late 19th century, with gong strike, and repeating button - the idea of the repeater is so that you can listen to the hour in the dark of the night, this type of clock would have been on your bedside table, but in todays fashion it would look superb on a mantel piece.
The movement has been fully overhauled, stripped, cleaned, oiled etc. and should be good for another 5 years before needing another service. This is an 8 day movement.
I have left the case in it’s original condition, showing its age etc. although the movement inside is nice and shiny; the only damage to the glass panels is a couple of chips to the top panel (see pictures).
The clock comes with a replacement key.
The hands and face are original and in perfect condition.
