Vincenti French oak mantel clock
Vincenti French oak mantel clock
This is a beautiful example of a Vinceti French mantel clock, in an oak case, dating from the 3rd quarter of the 19th century.
Vinceti was awarded the Silver medal of honour at the French exposition of 1855, and this movement bears the stamp of that award.
The clock strikes on the hour and half hour via a deep resounding gong.
The enamelled dial is in lovely condition with no noticeable chips.
The movement has been, stripped, cleaned and serviced, and is ready for use, keeping good time.
The case had seen the wars a little, there is a repair to the top (see pictures) and the bottom moulding has been replaced due to a missing side, the case has been fully stripped, French polished and waxed to give it a lovely sheen. New brass bun feet have been fitted.
The clock comes with a replacement key.
